We are excited to announce the release of Torrent Pro Version 10, delivering major enhancements, critical bug fixes, and powerful new features designed to elevate your torrenting experience.
🔑 Major Highlights
- Upgraded Torrent Engine – Enhanced stability and improved compatibility.
- Latest API Support – Fully optimized for Android 16 (Baklava) with API-36.
- UI-6 (Material Expressive UI) – Fresh, modern design with expressive components from Material Expressive UI.
- Global Network Speed Limit – New option to set speed limits across the entire app.
- Tracker Management – Enable or disable default trackers for individual torrents.
- Integrated Speedtest – Measure both internet and torrent speeds using globally available seeds.
- 16KB Page Memory Support – Optimized performance for supported devices.
⚙️ Major Improvements
- Live Speed Unit Conversion – Seamless real-time conversion for speed metrics while setting network speed limit.
- Optimized About Page – Cleaner, faster, and more informative.
- Enhanced Media Player – Improved in-app video/audio playback with updated stability.
- Country Flags Feature – Transitioned from Beta to Stable release. (Settings > Advanced > Advanced Pro > Show Peers Country Flag
🛠️ Major Fixes
- Network Speed Limit – Corrected issue where limits were not applied consistently.
- Streaming Service Bug – Fixed playback errors in both inbuilt and external players, displays a “Playback Failed” message if downloading a piece takes longer than expected.
⚠️ Limitations
With Android 16’s new behavioral changes, certain functionalities now require additional runtime permissions:
- LSD (Local Service Discovery)
- UPnP / NAT-PMP
- DHT (Distributed Hash Table)
These features will require the NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES permission on Android 16 and above. 👉 Devices running Android 15 or below remain unaffected.
As per android documentation this change will be deployed between two releases, 25Q2 and 26Q2 respectively.
And currently in current version of Torrent Pro app won’t need any additional runtime permissions stated above, This changes will be introduced in coming app updates by the deadline.
