We are thrilled to introduce Version 9 of the Torrent Pro app, packed with major enhancements, crucial bug fixes, and exciting new features. Here’s what’s new:
Major Highlights
- Upgraded Torrent Engine – Improved stability and compatibility.
- Latest API Support – Now targets Android 15 (Vanilla Ice Cream) with API-35.
- Subscription Options – Choose from one-time purchase, monthly, 6-month, or 1-year plans.
- Remove Ads for Free – A new option to Remove Ads for free.
- System File Manager (Beta) – Allows custom download folder selection, bypassing previous Google restrictions for folder selection
- Peers Country Flags (Beta) – Displays country flags for peers location, with a toast notification on tap. And Peers are now visually separated using Material Cards for better identification.
- Split Connection Encryption – Separate encryption settings for incoming and outgoing connections.
- Torrent Version Selection – Choose between Hybrid, V1 Only, or V2 Only when creating torrents. Existing torrents now display version details under the ‘INFO’ tab of Detail page.
- Stable/Beta Update Server Selection – Now user can make selection of update server, Available for website version only.
- Beta Features Section – Added as a PRO feature in the Settings page which will introduce new Beta features rollout.
- Create Torrent Support – Now you can create Torrents from Google Play Version also with some limitations
- Watch Directory Support – Now .torrent file watch directory feature will work in Google Play version also
- Love Symbols Animation – Tap on the Quotes Layout in Settings page for a love animation.
Major Improvements
- Updated notification icon to meet the latest standards.
- Enhanced translations across the app.
- Upgraded inbuilt video/audio player with an improved UI.
- Public IP, connection type/port, and country flag now visible in Self Seeding Layout, and UI synced with the Peers List.
- Optimized Settings page layout for better usability.
- Added ripple effects for clickable views.
- Improved Settings & Advanced Settings page layouts for smoother navigation.
Major Fixes
- Fixed app crash when creating torrents with large files.
- Resolved streaming service bug affecting both inbuilt and external players. Previously, the app would indefinitely wait for a pending piece to download, even if the user sought a new position. This issue is now fixed.
- Corrected theme application issues on tablets and wider views.
- Fixed Feeds/RSS activity overlap in tablet/wider view devices.
- Resolved inbuilt player not opening when changing device orientation in the ‘FILES’ tab.
- Fixed inbuilt player not opening on tablet/two-pane devices.
Limitations
- Due to Android 15’s new behavioral changes, app services can only run in the background for 6 hours within a 24-hour period if there is no user interaction. The timer resets when the user interacts with the app.
- This limitation applies to Android 12 and above but does not affect the website version.
