we are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains our data practices, the third-party services we use, and why specific device permissions are required for the app to function.. By using this app (“Torrent Pro -Torrent Downloader”), you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.
 

1. Data Collection & Privacy Philosophy

We operate on a Privacy-First principle.

  • No Personal Monitoring: We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number & other personal information.

  • No Usage Tracking: We do not monitor, log, or see the files you search for, download, or share via the BitTorrent protocol.

  • No External Storage Monitoring: While the app requires access to your storage to save(Downloading) & upload(Seeding) files , we do not scan or index files unrelated to your torrenting activity.

2. Permissions & Their Purpose

To provide a high-performance downloading experience, Torrent Pro requires the following permissions. We only use these permissions for the specific functional reasons listed below:

Permission Purpose
Internet & Network State Required to connect to the BitTorrent network, peers, and trackers to download/upload files.
Storage (Manage/Read/Write) Used to save downloaded files to your device and read .torrent or magnet files you wish to open.
Foreground Service (Special Use) Ensures that your downloads continue in the background even if you switch apps or lock your screen.
Wake Lock & Alarm Prevents the CPU from sleeping during an active download and schedules tasks for battery efficiency.
Post Notifications Used to show download progress, completion alerts, and status in the notification tray.
Boot Completed / Quickboot Allows the app to resume active downloads automatically after your device restarts.
WiFi State / Multicast Optimizes peer discovery (LPD) and allows the “Download on WiFi only” feature to function.
Nearby WiFi Devices Used for modern local peer discovery on Android 13+ without requiring location access.
Request Install Packages Allows you to update the Torrent Pro app without the need of downloading from website. (Applies to website version only, Not present in Google Play version)
Kill Background Processes Used to kill the process of Torrent Pro app if consuming unecessary resources.
Vibrate Provides haptic feedback for user-initiated actions or alerts.
Ad ID (Google GMS) Used by our advertising partners to serve relevant ads and prevent fraud.

Note on Location: On older Android versions (12 & below), WiFi scanning required Location permissions. We do not use this to track your physical location; it is strictly used for scanning local peers & seeds discovery.

3. Third-Party Services & Analytics

We use industry-standard libraries to maintain app stability and performance. These third parties may collect non-personal, technical data:

  • Torrent Pro (itself & core engine): The core engine for torrenting. It does not collect personal data.

  • Google Firebase & Crashlytics: Used to monitor crashes and app performance.

  • CAS.ai / AdMob / AdWords: Used to serve advertisements that keep this Pro app free.

Non-Personal Data Collected (via Analytics):

  • Device architecture (ABI), language, and “Night Mode” status.

  • App open counts and purchase status (Pro vs. Free).

  • Crash logs (collected only during app crashes) to help us fix bugs.

All such data is associated with a unique, resettable ID as per Google Play norms and cannot be used to identify you personally.

4. Security & User Responsibility

  • Absolute Security: While we use robust encryption and security measures, no app is 100% “hack-proof.”

  • Rooted Devices: We do not recommend using Torrent Pro on rooted devices, as this bypasses Android’s sandbox security and may expose your data to other malicious apps.

  • User Conduct: You are solely responsible for the content you download. The developers do not condone or facilitate the illegal download of copyrighted material.

5. Limitation of Liability

The developer (Kovvuri Gopala Krishna Reddy) and publisher (Q Infro) are not responsible for:

  1. Any loss of data due to device failure or hacking.

  2. Inappropriate content accessed via third-party magnet links or search engines.

  3. Use of the app in violation of local laws.

Users are solely responsible for their use of the app.
